Kid's Summer Reading
What is Summer Reading? |
Summer Parties |
Our Summer Reading program at the Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library is an incentive to keep kids
reading while school is out of session. Children can sign up by writing their name and phone number and receiving a reader number and reading log. Every week the children check
in and we record how many books they have read. They receive a raffle ticket for checking in and they can use it to select one of 7 prizes. They also receive a raffle ticket when they find the hidden object in the room. Every Monday we draw for the prizes and call the winning participants. Prizes can be picked up at the Children's Desk. We have prizes for all ages, so please even if you have an infant and you are reading to him/her, feel free to participate! Happy Reading!!

During Summer Reading we host a parties to celebrate the different parts of our Summer Reading programs. Our Kick-Off Party is always the first Saturday after school is over.
